5 Reasons to Get Married in a Barn

If you’re looking for a country wedding venue with beautiful views, plenty of character, elegance, space and light, a barn wedding might just be the perfect choice.

1. It’s All About Weddings

Many barns have been converted to become designated wedding venues and, as such, each space has been carefully considered. At Mythe Barn, for example, The Oak Barn is the perfect size and space for your ceremony, while The Grain Store makes an exceptional dining barn. With beautiful gardens, the Courtyard and even an outdoor kitchen, there is a natural flow through every area on your special day.

2. You’ll Have a Blank Canvas…

… and some wonderful original features. With a neutral colour scheme, the last thing you’re going to have to worry about with a barn venue is a loud, patterned carpet. Barns are perfect if you like the idea of bringing in your own style and colour choices, whether you want to embrace the rustic look or choose something a little more contemporary.

You’re also likely to enjoy high ceilings, beams and plenty of space, which couldn’t be more ideal for a wedding celebration. Just think of all those fairy lights you can drape around the beams!

3. It’s Exclusively Yours

At a barn wedding venue, you’re likely to be offered exclusive use. You won’t be bumping in to any other brides or sharing a hotel with a number of hotel guests who aren’t part of your wedding. It’s all for you!

4. The Surroundings are Beautiful

While Mythe Barn might be within easy reach of major transport networks, it’s set in the midst of beautiful countryside. With acres of fields surrounding the barns, you’d be forgiven for thinking you were miles away from anywhere. Such is the beauty of the barn venue, a countryside setting (just think of all those fabulous photographs!) but not necessarily difficult to get to. In the summer, we hope you’ll enjoy celebrating with your guests in the great outdoors. And, while you might not spend much time outside in winter months, you can still experience the views from our floor to ceiling windows.

5. You can stay overnight

If you like the idea of being able to stay overnight at your wedding venue, a barn could be the perfect choice. Many offer further barns, stables or haylofts that have been converted in to bespoke, quirky accommodation. At Mythe Barn, we know you’ll love our luxurious Honeymoon Suite and the beautiful Courtyard Guest Accommodation with seven idyllic en-suite bedrooms.
