When it came to planning their perfect wedding, Charlotte and Andrew didn’t ask for much, but enjoying a beautiful setting and wedding breakfast with their nearest and dearest was a must. They found exactly what they were searching for in this stunning, contemporary wedding venue.
“All we really wanted was to have a wonderful day surrounded by our family and friends; anything else was just a bonus. In terms of the wedding planning, the biggest things for us were to have a beautiful venue and good food.”
It was the effortless style and tranquil rural location that drew the happy couple to Mythe Barn, who fell in love with this unusual wedding venue in Leicestershire and all the delightful space which their guests could enjoy.
“We loved that the venue had a simple elegance to it and the way it was designed. The wooden beams in the ceiling of the Oak Barn with the black tiled floor and brick wall added a slightly rustic feel and was perfect for the ceremony, adding a wonderful atmosphere for the evening reception.”
“The large windows and doors filled the place with beautiful natural light, while the Grain Store had an amazing elegant style, with the drapes along the ceiling and chandelier lights creating a beautiful setting for the wedding breakfast.”
Charlotte looked breathtaking on the day, with a beautiful dress that was just perfect for her.
“My dress was made by the designer Opulence and I fell in love with it because it was the exact style I was looking for; a tight bodice and flowing train that made me feel confident and like a princess. It had just the right amount of beading and sparkle, noticeable without being over the top. But I fell in love with this particular dress because of the open back and the drapes of beading. It was something I hadn’t really seen before and made my dress feel more unique.”
Charlotte complemented her dress with a wonderful headpiece, sparkling jewellery and a stunning pair of heels by Ted Baker that worked perfectly with the pastel colour scheme.
The bridesmaids each wore a multi-way dress in a range of different pastel shades.
“I wanted them to feel confident and comfortable with the dress they were wearing, and this was the perfect option.”
When it came to decorating, the happy couple let the natural beauty of this delightful contemporary wedding venue shine out, adding just a few handmade touches to put their stamp on the day. DIY candle holders were finished with flourishes of pastel colours and the colour scheme and country theme were enhanced with bunting throughout the venue.
“We wanted to create a happy, loving and fun atmosphere that was fairly laid-back, and meant both our guests and ourselves could just relax and enjoy ourselves.”
Charlotte and Andrew were aware of the great reputation our wedding caterers have in Leicester, had and were determined to find the perfect menu that everyone would enjoy.
“After having a taster session at Mythe Barn and trying the food ourselves, we were amazed at how delicious and high quality their food was. It was also presented beautifully.”
The wedding breakfast went down a treat, as did the mouth-watering barbeque in the evening, cooked on the impressive fire pit in the courtyard. The newlyweds had an unforgettable day at Mythe Barn and had an incredible day celebrating with their nearest and dearests.
“Our day was absolutely perfect; we enjoyed every minute of it and it went by far too quickly. All of our family and friends commented on how much they loved everything and had a brilliant day, so we are happy to know they enjoyed themselves too.”
So what advice would they give to others who are planning their perfect wedding?
“All we can really say is to plan your day the way you and your partner want it, think about what is most important to you, and don’t stress about the little things. On the day as long as you two are happy, nothing else will matter.”
