Libby and Josh chose a timeless colour scheme of white, silver and grey for their summer wedding at Mythe Barn. With fabulous flowers, exceptional food, live music and sunshine, it was a truly glorious celebration.
A Venue Vibe
After visiting a number of wedding venues, Libby and Josh knew when they arrived at Mythe Barn that it was the perfect setting for their August wedding. “It was light and modern but full of beautiful rustic features,” smiles Libby. “The setting was stunning, and the outdoor area was just what we wanted – we’d always imagined everyone eating and drinking outside in a courtyard. It ticked every box.”
Design and Décor
As a wedding co-ordinator, Libby had seen many styles of wedding but always dreamed of a classic, timeless, white wedding. With a colour scheme of white, silver and grey, flowers were the main decoration with beautiful blooms adorning Mythe Barn.
The table centres featured fabulous white hydrangeas while a copper and hydrangea backdrop and neon ‘Happily Ever After’ sign made a great feature for the evening party. The happy couple made much of the stationery themselves and sat the seating plan in a stunning flower frame.
“I know what an impact candles have when creating a beautiful atmosphere, so we used as many as we could all around the venue,” says Libby.
Struggling to find the perfect dress, Libby chose a gown with a tulle skirt and re-designed the bodice. “Unfortunately, I didn’t fall in love with it,” she explains. “I think I put too much pressure on myself to find the perfect dress. I did, however, love my veil and never wanted to take it off!”
The beautiful bride accessorised with her mother’s diamond earrings and shoes from the Dune bridal range.
Meanwhile, Josh looked the part in a navy three-piece suit from Moss Bros while Libby’s adult bridesmaids chose their own dresses, mostly from ASOS. “They all have such different styles and I wanted their personalities to show through,” smiles Libby. “They all looked stunning.”
Libby and Josh’s daughters were the flower girls and looked adorable in tulle skirts with ballet leotards.
Wedding Day Details
Following their romantic ceremony in the Oak Barn, a drinks reception was held in the Cart Barn. Moving in to the Grain Store to dine a smoked bacon Scotch egg was served to start, followed by fillet of beef with dauphinoise potatoes and a vanilla cheesecake with raspberry coulis.
“The food was beautiful,” says Libby. “A lot of our guests commented on how good it was and it looked stunning too.”
When it came to music, ‘The Face Acoustic’ performed as the evening guests arrived and got everyone in the mood for a party.
The newlyweds danced their first dance to ‘Sky Full of Stars’ by Coldplay and a fabulous confetti canon exploded at a poignant moment. “We didn’t tell anyone about it and the look on our guests faces was priceless!” smiles Libby.
A photo booth hired from Snap Candy proved a great success in the evening with a barbecue to delight the happy couple and their guests on this joyous summer’s day.
“Walking down the aisle. Seeing everyone you love in the same room completely overwhelmed me. Then seeing Josh at the end of the aisle was the best part for me. I didn’t stop smiling throughout the ceremony. I was so happy!” – Libby
“Watching Libby walk down the aisle. All the build-up came down to that moment and it was priceless. I was an emotional wreck! She looked beautiful. I also loved the band she surprised me with – we always wanted live music to be part of the day.” – Josh
