Embracing joy and romance, Claire and Dan chose a vibrant colour scheme for their September wedding. With a great theme, delicious food and fabulous live band, it was a romantic celebration at Mythe Barn.
The Venue Vibe
Claire fell in love with Mythe Barn as soon as she saw the website, but a visit to an open event really sealed the deal. “I was filled with excitement the whole time. As we left, Dan turned to me and said, ‘We have to get married here, don’t we?’ He loved it just as much as me. It was clearly meant to be!”
Design and Décor
Setting a late September wedding date, the happy couple chose a vibrant colour scheme of teal with pops of fuchsia and a theme of ‘board games’! “We are renowned for our love of board games,” explains Claire. “We wanted our wedding to be lots of fun and for everyone to just think ‘this is so Claire and Dan’.” Adding to the natural beauty of the venue, silk petals were used to decorate the ceremony aisle with faux flowers in the centre pieces.
Looking online, Claire found three dresses she liked and booked an appointment to try them on. When she arrived, she discounted two of them so tried on only one dress – it turned out to be ‘the one’! “It was a beautiful Stella York dress from Dress Me Pretty,” she says. “It really did make me feel like a princess which is exactly what I wanted.”
Claire chose the gown in a warm ivory colour with tulle over gold satin, accessorising with crystal jewellery and elegant ivory ballet pumps.
Wedding Day Details
Following their romantic ceremony, canapés and cocktails were served in The Cart Barn. Moving in to dine, a starter of leek and potato soup was followed by chicken and, for pudding, a dark chocolate torte with white chocolate sauce.
“We chose food that we wanted but that would also please most of our guests,” explains Claire. “It was simply incredible.”
After the sun went down, the newlyweds danced their first dance to ‘Neverland’ from the Broadway Musical, ‘Finding Neverland’ and a live band, ‘Partners in Crime’, filled the dance floor. “We didn’t choreograph anything at all but I did surprise Dan when I decided to add a little spin!” smiles Claire.
A barbecue served from the fabulous outdoor kitchen at Mythe Barn was the perfect finale to this glorious day.
“I can’t choose just one moment. What I enjoyed the most was having all the family and friends that we love in one place enjoying themselves.”
