Katie and Adam celebrated in style with a delicate colour scheme for their early spring wedding at Mythe Barn wedding venue in Leicestershire. We hope you love every element as much as we do, from the pretty flowers to the elegant wedding décor and Katie’s stunning wedding dress.
A Venue Vibe
Looking for the perfect barn wedding venue, Mythe Barn was the first of numerous places that Katie and Adam visited.
“I loved it from the moment I saw it.” smiles Katie. “The grounds were lovely and each and every room was elegant and beautiful. We wanted a large reception space and Mythe Barn offered that.”

Design and Décor
Setting a late March wedding date, spring was in the air and the happy couple chose a subtle colour scheme of champagne and gold. Candelabra adorned with flowers sat on some of the tables while other tables featured large glass vases with tall candles. Gold sequin table runners added an element of glamour.
“We took our inspiration from WOW Weddings who decorated the room on the day of our wedding,” explains Katie. “We also had large illuminated ‘LOVE’ letters and rustic crates with the words ‘Mr and Mrs’.”

Bridal Style
The beautiful bride wore a fitted lace dress with a train from The Dressing Room in Halesowen. She completed the look with ivory lace shoes with ribbons that tied around the ankle. Finally, Katie accessorised with diamond earrings, a hair vine and a long veil.
“I also wore an Aston Villa garter as I’ve followed the team since I was a little girl.” Katie smiles.

Adam looked the part in a bespoke navy suit with gold stitching and tweed waistcoat from Moss Bros. Meanwhile, his groomsmen and the two page boys wore suits in a slightly darker shade.

Katie’s three bridesmaids were stunning in floor-length Champagne-coloured chiffon dresses.
“We had the dresses made so that we could choose the exact colour.” explains Katie.

Wedding Day Details
Following their romantic ceremony, a drinks reception was held in The Cart Barn, accompanied by a string quartet. Moving in to The Grain Store to dine, ham hock was served for starter, followed by steak with fondant potatoes and, for pudding, chocolate brownie.
“We loved the brownies from the first day we visited Mythe Barn.” smiles Katie

After the sun went down, the newlyweds danced their first dance to ‘Perfect’ by Ed Sheeran and a live band, Vinyl Reprisal, filled the dance floor, playing everything from The Beatles to Oasis.

Favourite Moments
“When we were announced in to the room as Mr and Mrs Knight.”
“Adam had been practicing playing the drums and he joined the band for one song during the evening reception. I was completely unaware he was going to do it!”
