Nichola and Joe’s dinosaur wedding at Mythe Barn was planned with all their guests’ needs in mind. With a scrumptious menu, guaranteed to impress, and plenty of accommodation on site for family and friends, everyone could soak up the atmosphere and enjoy the day.
Nichola’s chosen wedding dress was the first she’d pinned on Pinterest. After falling in love with its vintage style and intricate beading, she knew nothing could beat the Maggie Sottero design.
“It was exactly the style I was looking for.”
Joe, on the other hand, wore modern blue opting for a designer suit from Ted Baker. He accessorised with a light pink tie to complement the bridesmaids’ attire and the colour scheme of the day.
While the couple opted for a quirky dinosaur wedding theme, flowers played a big part in their day too. Vases filled with bluebells, narcissi, tulips, freesia and ranunculus took over the wedding space while the table plan, table names and stationery all featured dinosaurs. They finished off their reception space with a Papo dinosaur figurine on each table.
The celebrations that followed the couple’s ceremony were even better than the two had imagined. Delicious canapés and drinks were served right away and followed by a wedding breakfast. The couple’s wedding catering included a starter of confit pork and apple spring roll, a fillet steak with dauphinoise potatoes and a dessert of shortbread with fresh cream and raspberries.
“The wedding breakfast speeches were so emotional. Joe’s father gave a beautiful speech which had me in tears.”
Guests also got a second dose of something sweet with a serving of Nichola and Joe’s delicious wedding cake. Each tier was a different flavour, one lemon, another vanilla and a final tier of salted caramel. The cake wasn’t the only treat guests were in store for – wood fired pizza was served come evening too!
“ I wanted my guests to love the food, which they certainly did.”
Great entertainment was also key in ensuring guests had a good time – so the pair created their very own DIY photobooth. Their photobooth doubled up as a guestbook too, as guests took polaroid selfies for picture-perfect memories of the couple’s special day.
Nichola and Joe opted for a traditional first dance – getting guests to join in half way through so that they weren’t in the limelight for too long. Nichola made sure to switch her shoes for the evening celebrations though – ditching the heels for a pair of rainbow Converse.
“They were definitely a good idea for all the dancing!”
We were so happy that Nichola and Joe decided to hold their special day at Mythe Barn wedding venue. When asked why, Nichola told us the Barn ticked all the boxes and that they booked it as soon as they could.
“As soon as I saw Mythe Barn I had butterflies. It was truly beautiful and no other venue compared. The setting felt so private and we loved the countryside surroundings.”
