When it comes to planning your wedding, often the most valuable pearls of wisdom come from couples who have recently married in your chosen venue. These nuggets of advice from some Mythe Barn newlyweds might give you a little food for thought.
“Take five minutes to look around and be in the moment as it all goes so quickly! We also wished we had organised a get together with our immediate family and friends the day after the wedding.” – Rochelle and Joshua
“The best thing I did in the lead up to the wedding was create a spread-sheet timeline for the day. It included every bit of useful info, including timings, contact details, things not to forget etc. I gave a copy to everyone in the bridal party and Molly (our wonderful wedding coordinator at Mythe Barn) and knew that in their safe hands Graeme and I could relax.” – Julia and Graeme
“I had trouble envisaging how decorations would be put out on the day and I was relying on other people to help decorate the venue. I drew a plan of each room with notes next to where certain things were to be placed. It meant that I could relax in the knowledge that everyone who was decorating the room knew exactly what to do.” – Laura and Matthew
“Plan your day the way you and your partner want it. Think about what is most important to you, and don’t stress about the little things. On the day as long as you two are happy, nothing else will matter.” – Charlotte and Andrew
“Don’t focus on the little details. On the day, you won’t even notice.” – Ria and Chris
“Try not to get too caught up in the planning process and don’t let yourself get too stressed. It can be so easy to get wrapped up in everything wedding related that you forget about everything else going on in your life. This is going to be the day you’re going to marry your best friend and the person you love the most. Nobody will notice if the table cloth doesn’t match the chair cover!” – Rachel and Ben
“A lot of people worry about the seating plan for the wedding breakfast especially with parents being separated. We decided to have a Sweetheart Table just for me and Matt. It meant we also had a bit more time together. We then made sure that we moved around the tables to chat to our guests in between courses. It actually gave us more quality time with each individual person sharing our day” – Laura and Matthew
“Plan as much as you can, but enjoy every moment of the planning and organising. The team at Mythe Barn were incredible.” – Janet and Gary
