Summer Love in the Countryside

Hazel & Chris enjoyed a stylish June wedding celebration at Mythe Barn.

That Venue Vibe

Searching for a beautiful barn wedding venue in Leicestershire, Hazel and Chris were delighted to find Mythe Barn.

“With 70 guests, we wanted a venue that wasn’t too large and that was enough of a blank canvas for us to be able to add our own touches,” explains Hazel. “Mythe Barn offered the casual, relaxed atmosphere we wanted and it had an outside gazebo which was great – we were initially thinking of getting married outside.”

Setting the Scene

Deciding on a June wedding date, the happy couple set a colour scheme of blues, purples and silver. “The Oak Barn was decorated with fairy lights and blue and purple wicker lights,” smiles Hazel.

The creative bride made all the buttonholes and bouquets herself using fabric flowers. “We also made the place names and signage and Chris made all the favours – suede pouches containing gold chocolate coins,” says Hazel.

Finally, table centrepieces in The Grain Store were toys and figurines sitting on top of tree slices with each table named after a favourite game, film or TV programme.

Wedding Day Details

Hazel’s top wedding tip:

“We almost didn’t get a videographer. Luckily, we did. The day flew by so quickly, if we hadn’t it would have been the biggest regret not having a way to relive the best day of our lives.”
