Fresh and natural, these colours are a perfect blend if you’re looking for pure elegance. It’s a gentle choice, perfect for a country wedding, and you can always add in a delicate shade of pink if you’d like to lift it a little. Nature is on your side here, offering plenty of treats in the form of foliage for you to create fabulous bouquets, buttonholes and floral arrangements. When it comes to bridesmaids, the shades of green are a flattering choice, accompanied by winter white posies.

2. Warm Spice

Burgundy is warm and cosy – just the thing for a winter wedding and a more gentle choice than bright red. Add a blush pink in to this colour scheme to soften it a little, and to give your bridesmaids the choice of wearing burgundy or pink depending on their skin tone and preference. Flowers couldn’t be easier, and the colours also lend themselves to striking cakes and divine cocktails! This look works well at exclusive wedding venues.

3. Cool Teal

This colour palette creates a more ‘icy’ look and is perhaps a little more contemporary, certainly moving away from any suggestion of pink or vintage. Use these colours as you wish… perhaps leaning more towards one than the other. You might, for example, have hints of teal and choose charcoal as your main colour for bridesmaids and table design. Alternatively, if you’re feeling bold, go heavy on the teal and break it up with splashes of grey and winter white.

4. Glitzy Gold

This is undoubtedly one of our favourite choices for winter weddings. Sparkly gold is inviting and immediately suggests a party vibe. It’s also elegant and wonderfully sophisticated. It might sound ridiculous, but there are various shades of gold from bronze to bright yellow, so it’s important to choose your tone and stick to it. The addition of white is essential for flowers and linens, using gold as your accent colour for ribbons, stationery, jewellery, cake details and bridesmaid dresses.

5. Navy and Burnt Orange

Navy is a lovely wedding colour, given a pop of colour here with the addition of burnt orange, and softened with a shade of pale blue. A slightly less obvious choice for a wedding, it’s preppy and contemporary… for the couple who want to be just that little bit different. Bridesmaids might choose to wear navy and carry the brighter colours in their posies, with orange a natural choice for flowers. These colours are bold, so consider sticking to pale blue or winter white as your base shade for table linen.

If you’re looking for the prettiest of winter colour schemes, this is it. Delicate and feminine, it suits clean, contemporary settings as well as a more rustic, countryside scene. Lavender is flattering for bridesmaids, and a great choice for stationery, décor and flowers. For a country wedding, add in a little slate for a natural edge, or a hint of shimmer in the form of silver.

7. Christmas Time!

We couldn’t possibly focus on winter wedding colour schemes without including our favourite Christmas shades of red, green, black and white. Mythe Barn sets the scene perfectly with a Christmas tree at the venue throughout the festive season. Strawberry red is a dreamy choice – bright and colourful but warmer and more gentle than a pillar box shade. Team this jolly hue with vibrant green and crisp white (ivory is to be banished from this palette at all costs!), adorning the tree with red and white decorations.

If ever there was a good excuse to buy a pair of Christian Louboutin shoes, this is it. You simply need those red soles to tie the colour scheme together!
