Rosheen and Ben chose an elegant metallic colour scheme for their March wedding at Mythe Barn. With great entertainment, an exceptional menu and stylish décor, it was a wedding day to delight.
Dreaming of a country wedding venue where they could marry and celebrate with a fabulous party, Rosheen and Ben fell in love with Mythe Barn. Setting a spring wedding date, it was time to start planning.
“The long driveway captured us on our first visit. It felt like something very special was about to happen!” smiles Rosheen. “The venue itself is stunning and had a real sense of calm. You could have the wedding ceremony and reception both on site which we loved!”
Originally planning a shabby chic, rustic wedding theme, the happy couple changed their minds and instead chose metallics, focusing on gold, silver and copper.
Brass lanterns and white confetti lined the aisle in the Oak Barn and Rosheen made floral hoops using hula hoops and artificial flower garlands.
In the Grain Store, pretty tea lights created ambient lighting, while the table numbers were made from corks and the florist supplied grey table runners and beautiful floral centrepieces.
“I didn’t think I’d be that bothered about wedding flowers but I loved my bouquet,” says Rosheen. “I always wanted pampas grass for that boho wedding feel and anemones. Our florist used those with other white flowers and muted foliage in a relaxed arrangement.”
Rosheen looked stunning in a classic A-line dress with sweetheart neckline from True Bride.
“It had lace applique and delicate sequins which glistened when it caught the light,” she explains. “The tulle was so soft and romantic. It didn’t feel overly ‘princessy’ but not too boho either. It was just a fairytale dress!”
The beautiful bride accessorized with pretty sandals from Accessorize, changing into sparkly Converse for the evening party. She also chose a simple hair vine from Jon Richard and earrings and a necklace from Alan Hannah.
Meanwhile, Ben and his groomsmen looked the part in grey suits from Next, completing the look with grey ties and pocket squares.
Finally, Rosheen’s two bridesmaids were stylish and elegant in grey dresses from David’s Bridal, the perfect colour choice for the metallic colour scheme.
Following the romantic ceremony in the Oak Barn, a drinks reception was held in the Cart Barn, with Elderflower Cosmopolitans, non-alcoholic Elderflower Sparklers and delicious canapés.
Moving into the Grain Store to dine, baked brie with Parma ham and brioche was followed by a beef fillet main course and, for pudding, tiramisu.
“It was all perfection and the beef just melted in the mouth,” smiles Rosheen. “Our guests still rave about how good the food was.”
With a passion for music, Rosheen and Ben spent a lot of time finding the perfect DJ and offered their guests access to an online library of songs. Dancing their first dance to ‘Hold My Girl’ by George Ezra, complete with a confetti canon at the end, the newlyweds then filled the dance floor with a Nicki Minaj song.
Wood fired pizza was the perfect choice for evening dining, alongside a DIY glitter bar which proved to be great entertainment!
“Everything was beyond exceptional.” says Rosheen. “The Events Team were always on hand for everything and anything and literally couldn’t do enough to help, from pushing a baby around the room while the parents tucked into their food to making sure Ben and I got our share of canapés!”
“It’s a tie between the first and the last dance. Everyone formed a circle around us, adorned with glow sticks and covered head to toe in glitter. Ben and I linked hands and spun each other around!”
