After your big day has taken place, your wedding pictures will become one of your most treasured possessions! Capturing every element of your wedding, from the moment you arrive to the grand finale, it’s important to discuss your expectations with your photographer before the day takes place. To give you a helping hand, we’ve made a list of wedding photography essentials for a Mythe Barn wedding.
With your flowers in place and the venue dressed for your special day, it’s lovely to take a few photographs, both inside and out, before guests arrive.
We all love those informal, reportage shots of the bride, the groom and their attendants preparing for the day ahead. Your photographer might take shots of your dress hanging up and details such as your shoes, jewellery and bouquet. If you’re getting ready at Mythe Barn, ask your photographer to capture the moment you walk down the stairs to your ceremony.
Your photographer is likely to take some images of guests arriving and waiting for the ceremony to begin. Of course it’s also essential to capture your arrival and walk down the aisle along with the special ceremony moment. The minstrels gallery in The Oak Barn is a great spot for taking photographs from above.
This is a great opportunity to take relaxed, reportage style pictures of your guests mingling and chatting. It’s also the time to get elegant photographs of your delicious canapés and cocktails. These are the detailed photos that will really build a picture of your day.
If you’re planning to spend elements of your day outside, speak to your photographer about possible options. It’s lovely to capture the gardens and countryside setting of Mythe Barn, especially with the venue in the background. Even if you’re not using the gazebo for your ceremony, it’s a great spot for photographs.
When you visit the venue with your photographer, make a note of areas that will work well for romantic shots. You might, for example, wander down the driveway together…
As well as capturing The Grain Store dressed for your wedding, it’s important to take another shot as guests sit down to dine. And, we love to see that happy image of the newlyweds arriving in to the room!
Chances are you’ll have spent quite some time planning every element of your wedding, so be sure to ask your photographer to take artistic shots of every detail, from your flowers and stationery to the décor and wedding cake.
As the evening party commences, let’s take lots of lovely photographs of Mythe Barn set for a party. Ask your photographer to take a photo from the outside looking in, through the characterful barn windows. Capture the lighting and the dancefloor with a real party vibe. Of course we also want to see that first dance.
End your day on a high, perhaps with sparklers as you leave or a fun final shot of the two of you raising a toast to each other.
