At Mythe Barn, we understand that planning a wedding comes with a lot of questions, and we’re here to help make your special day as smooth and memorable as possible. Whether you’re curious about our venue, services, or planning logistics, you’ll find answers to the most commonly asked questions right here. Can you provide any food for us on the morning of the wedding?

Yes! You can arrive at Mythe Barn from 10.30am and begin your preparations in The Gallery. Whilst you get ready, we have a range of delicious grazing boards for you to choose from. We can also provide bottles of Champagne or prosecco in The Gallery so you can enjoy celebrating with your wedding party. Speak to the events team on 01827 946440 for more information.

Which local registry office do I book my ceremony with and how do I get in touch with them?

Book your ceremony with Leicestershire registry office. You can contact them on 0116 305 6565 or [email protected].

Can I have a church ceremony?

You can have your ceremony in a local church and then travel to Mythe Barn for your reception. There are several parish churches close to Mythe Barn:
All Saints Church, Sheepy Magna
All Saints Church, Ratcliffe Culey,
St Peter’s Church, Witherley

How many guests can you seat for the civil ceremony?

We can seat 150 guests in the Oak Barn for the civil ceremony.

What time can guests arrive at the venue?

The bar will be open for a maximum of 90 minutes ahead of your ceremony for guests to purchase refreshments. You can speak to your events team to find out the exact timings for your day.

Can I walk up the aisle?

Yes, the Oak Barn will be set up to create an aisle unless you advise otherwise.

What about music during the ceremony and wedding breakfast?

If you are not using a harpist, string quartet or guitarist etc. you are welcome to bring your own pre-recorded music. Both the Oak Barn and the Grain Store have a full music system.

How many guests can Mythe Barn accommodate for a sit down meal?

We can seat a maximum of 150 guests in the Grain Store for dining.

Can we invite more guests for the evening?

You are welcome to invite additional guests in the evening up to a total number of 200 guests (including day guests).

What sort of drinks are available to purchase on our wedding day?

We have a selection of premium spirits, cocktails and luxury coffees available. Please speak to our events team for more detailed information.

Are tables and chairs included?

Yes, tables and chairs in both the Oak Barn and Grain Store are included.

Will our guests find Mythe Barn easily?

Yes from signs on the local surrounding roads, at the bottom of the drive, on the roadside, signs to the car park, and also signage to the venue.

Where does my wedding car access the venue?

You can be driven right up to the Oak Barn in your wedding transport.

Is the venue heated?

The barn is heated throughout and is zoned so that the temperature in each of the different rooms can be easily controlled.

Does the venue have air conditioning?

Air conditioning is installed in the Grain Store, Cart Barn, Oak Barn, Honeymoon Suite and preparation area.

Do you have disabled facilities?

We have disabled toilet facilities at Mythe Barn and the venue is all on one level apart from the Honeymoon Suite on the first floor. We have a bedroom for disabled guests in the Courtyard.

Have you any facilities for babies?

We have baby changing facilities and five highchairs. There is also a quiet room on the first floor which can be used for feeding.

Where can guests leave coats and presents?

There are coat hooks in the hall and a gift table can be set up for you by the Events Team on request. Please note, all gifts must be moved to a secure room, such as a bedroom, for their safe keeping before the end of the night. We cannot guarantee the security of any gifts which are not in a secure room.

What photographic locations are available?

There are some truly wonderful photographic opportunities, inside and out, for you and your guests including the barn itself, lovely gardens, fields and the river.

Can we release balloons and/or sky lanterns outside?

Unfortunately it is not possible as these are likely to be hazardous to the livestock on the farm and pose a fire risk.

Do you allow dry ice machines/smoke machines?

We don’t allow dry ice/smoke machines.

Do you allow fireworks and sparklers?

We do not allow fireworks or sparklers out of consideration for our neighbours and livestock.

Do you allow confetti?

Biodegradable confetti is allowed in certain areas. Please discuss this with the Events Team.

Do you allow candles and nightlights inside the barns?

Floating candles and candles contained within a lantern are allowed throughout the wedding and reception. Candles in candelabras may be lit through dinner and then will be extinguished after the speeches.

When do we need to remove the decorations?

Please ensure decorations are removed at the end of the night. We cannot accept responsibility for any items left overnight.

Do you have a cake stand and cake knife?

Yes. Please ask the Events Team when discussing your menu.

When can the band/DJ set up their equipment?

Your band/DJ is welcome to set up their equipment from 10 am.

Do you have a noise inhibitor?

Yes. This is set at 95 decibels. Before you secure your booking with a band/DJ, please make them aware of this so that they bring the right equipment.
