Rustic Style at Mythe Barn

Rachael and Ben celebrated in style with a beautiful June wedding at Mythe Barn.

The Perfect Venue

On the hunt for a rustic country barn wedding venue in Leicestershire, Rachael and Ben found Mythe Barn online and arranged a visit.

“I fell in love with it straight away,” smiles Rachael. “Every space was so smart and well-dressed, we both said that we could picture getting married there. The event planners were so helpful and that definitely helped us during the planning process.”

Setting the Scene

Deciding on a June wedding date, the happy couple wanted a rustic style wedding with an elegant colour combination of pinks, ivory and gold.

“It wasn’t what we had imagined at first but turned out even better with a country feel,” says Rachael

Creative details included a table plan ladder and an easel with a welcome sign. Painted wine bottles proved to be excellent vases.

“These looked great,” continues Rachael. “It felt satisfying on the day to know that we’d done some of it ourselves.”

Looking the Part

The beautiful bride wore an Essence of Australia gown by Stella York. Having tried on a number of dresses, Rachael was losing heart before visiting The Bridal Boutique in Henley in Arden.

“The girls there really put me at my ease,” she explains. “I completely fell in love with the dress – everything about it, the keyhole back, the lace detail and the neckline.”

She accessorised with a shorter veil, elegant jewellery and shoes from Rainbow Club.

Rachael’s bridesmaids were stunning in ‘Salma’ dresses from Ghost, completing the look with fresh flowers in their hair.

“The dresses were so simple and elegant,” smiles Rachael, “I knew they would fit perfectly with the look we were going for.”

Finally, Ben looked the part in a slim fit navy suit by French Connection for Moss Bros.

All About Flowers

Florist Hannah Ricci from Bloom Fleuriste created fabulous floral arrangements for Mythe Barn, adorning the venue with beautiful blooms and amazing scents.

As a wonderful memento, Rachael has since planted all the succulents in Laura Ashley pots in her back garden and had her bouquet dried and framed so she can keep it forever.

Wedding Day Details

Following their romantic ceremony in The Oak Barn and drinks reception in The Cart Barn, guests moved in to dine.

“The food by the expert on-site catering team was delicious and perfectly presented,” says Rachael. “The beef completely melted in your mouth.”

As the sun went down, a DJ filled the dance floor and the newlyweds danced their first dance to ‘The One’ by Kodaline.

Favourite Moments

“I can’t choose a favourite – there are so many! I had a lovely morning with my bridesmaids and walking down the aisle was an exciting and amazing feeling. When we sat down for our wedding breakfast, it was so lovely to see the people that we love and cherish sharing our special day with us.”

Rachael’s top wedding tip

“Don’t get too caught up in the planning process. This is the day you’re going to marry your best friend – no one will notice if the table cloth doesn’t match the chair cover!”
