THE story OF MYTHE BARN

Our rich heritage

At Mythe Barn, we take immense pride in our heritage, which traces back to 1220. The land that Mythe Barn stands on was granted to Sir Edward Poynings by none other than King Henry VII himself following the historic Battle of Bosworth. Once, this site was home to a grand hall and a chapel, but today, only the moat remains.

Today, Mythe Barn is in the capable hands of the third generation of our family, Joe and Joanna Garland. They manage the venue and oversee the operations of the still-active working farm, embodying the rustic charm that defines Mythe Barn.

Our evolution

In 2010, the idea of transforming Mythe Barn into a wedding venue was born, and two years later, we opened our doors as one of the first barn wedding venues in the area. In the years following, we continuously improved our venue, introducing guest bedrooms, an outdoor kitchen, a secondary preparation space and a dedicated space for breakfast. Over the years, our venue has changed and evolved, but we’ve always been led by our commitment to providing the best for our couples.

Consistent excellence

We take immense pride in our journey to making Mythe Barn the wonderful venue it is today. We’ve received awards every single year for the past decade, and this consistency is a testament to our unwavering dedication to maintaining an exceptional venue.

Our team on-site shares our passion for Mythe Barn. Their love for the venue and the people they work with shines through in the experiences they create for our couples. This dedication translates into the unforgettable memories and moments our guests cherish.
