Of course, we all know that weddings are completely personal and that fashions and wedding trends don’t matter at this most romantic occasion. However… it is always nice to know what’s ‘in’ and ‘happening’ in the world of weddings. With that in mind, we thought we’d take a look at some of the top wedding trends. We think they are rather inspirational and lovely, and we hope you do too!

1. Mismatched Colours

When it comes to the colour palette, mismatching is all the rage. Of course, this is trickier than it looks and doesn’t just involve choosing an array of colours and styles and hoping for the best! To keep it effective, find an underlying style before splashing out on colours, and make sure just a few elements of your day are mismatched.

When it comes to bridesmaids, for example, you might select the same style of dress for each of your maids, with each in a different colour. Colours should always coordinate.

We particularly love mismatched chairs – just the thing for an outdoor ceremony.

2. The Woodland Theme

With a definite move away from bling and sparkle, stylish brides are leaning towards a more natural theme through florals and décor. Think ‘just picked’ seasonal flowers, an abundance of greenery and candlelight. While this sounds a little unusual, it can look incredibly glamorous.

Use natural elements as much as possible, from wooden place cards to giant leaf place mats!

Don’t forget to include the cake. An elegant design adorned with fresh blooms, sitting on a wooden cake stand is just the thing.

3. Clever Lighting

Every wedding needs a romantic ambience, and the most effective way to create it is through effective lighting. 2017 weddings see contemporary and vintage chandeliers and pendant lights with bare ‘Edison’ bulbs.

Choose the style of lighting that suits your wedding, and don’t forget to decorate outside as well as in. Line pathways with candles to light the way, and hang lights from trees to illuminate the great outdoors.

4. Barn Wedding Venues

Beautiful barn wedding venues remain as popular as ever, giving couples the opportunity to create their rustic chic. Choose the barn that best suits your wedding in terms of location, budget and size… and take it from there. 5. Time for Cocktails
